I like to think that we are nothing if we don't know from whence we come. I would love to see in this blog space a column that addresses our history and the approach that you suggest would be the perfect way to do that. There are at least fifty albums in my modest collection that I really like but would like to see placed in some historical perspective but not only that. Who's picking and where else did those players play. Vassar Clements played with a bunch of different bands and I'm sure that if someone pulled those cuts together it would make a great album on it's own. Additionally many of the early albums simply did not credit all the players, sometimes hardly anything was said. I, myself would read your column with interest What does anyone else think?
